Picture walking through Baltimore's neighborhoods. You'll see young faces full of potential, but too many of them are trapped in a story they didn't choose.
35% of youth are below child poverty rate, juvenile crime is soaring with 1,200 cases per year and 13% of 16-24 year olds are not in school or working. There is an opportunity to shift the narrative and break cycles of poverty by bringing people together in positive ways, creating more enriching environments, and offering solutions that bridge the gaps of success.
Tender Bridge's mission is to use hockey along with other activities as a vehicle to build lasting relationships with marginalized youth in high violence areas of Baltimore. These relationships help our youth access meaningful opportunities and support on the road to successful adulthood as they define it themselves.
We believe that in order to bridge the gap, you need kids to be able to face their challenges, expand their horizons, see a brighter future and be empowered to pursue it.

Hockey is the tip of the iceberg. Our off-ice programming and support is no more limited than the support of a family. We have hiking, biking, sailing, BBQs, tutoring, mentor dinners, clothing drives, housing support, job applications, apprenticeships, career placements and more. Everything we do is aimed at enriching lives as a team and helping each individual find their success. This is made possible through coach/mentors, program partners, donors, and perhaps most importantly, the alumni who mentor and set examples for younger generations.
We are committed to creating cycles of success and we hope that people are inspired by our stories to take action by supporting our players, our organization, or the thousands of others like us. We may be unique in our approach but we aren't the only ones committed to this mission. Hopefully you are too.
